Twilight Party ... more ideas

I came across a fun blog called Entertain Exchange (http://www.entertainexchange.blogspot.com/), the blog author did a write up for a Twilight party she is throwing tonight for the Twilight DVD release. Here is more about her party. And the details of what she did for decor in her own words. Thankyou.
'With the release of the Twilight DVD this Friday at Midnight, I thought this would be the perfect Tablescape for this week. With an obsessed 16 year old daughter I have been collecting items just for this purpose. I knew eventually we would be having a party of some sort. This weeks big event is attending the Twilight Midnight Release Party, to pick up the DVD, then back home with friends to stay up and watch it with a sleepover.'
I placed these silver branches I already own into a tall glass vase. Then stuffed in red fun fur, letting it puff out the top. I also purchaced these red sparkly apple ornaments after Christmas, on a clearance table, anticipating a Twilight use.
I turned the glasses upside down to hold the ultimate Twilight symbol, the "apple." Using a silver Sharpie to write with, the leaf of the apple became the place card.
'I used a piece of black fabric for the tablecloth, placed red scrapbook paper under the plates and used red paper napkins on the plates. Purchased these red and white tulips at Pottery Barn after Christmas for 97 cents each. I used a piece of red organza fabric wrapped around the bottom of the vase, then placed twinkle lights underneath. Ribbon tied around stem of glass.

The cookies have a light vanilla and butter flavor to them, and are the perfect color to really set off the red of the filling. The have a slightly crisp edge and a soft, chewy center. When you take a bite and expose the jam, they really do look like they’re bleeding! Here's the recipe:

Vampire Cookies

3/4 cup butter, softened

1/2 cup sugar

1 large egg

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1/8 tsp almond extract

1 1/2 cups all purpose flour

1/4 tsp saltapprox

1/2 cup red jam (raspberry/strawberry)
In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light. Beat in egg and extracts.Add flour and salt to the bowl and mix them into the butter-sugar mixture at low speed until dough is just combined. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.Preheat oven to 325F.Divide dough in half and keep the portion you are not using in the refrigerator.Roll dough out on a lightly floured surface until it is about 1/8-inch thick. Use a cookie cutter to cut out 2-inch rounds.Place rounds on a baking sheet, put a teaspoon of jam on each of them and cover with another round of dough. Press edges down lightly, pinching the edges onto the cookie sheet. Use a toothpick and poke two small holes (like a vampire bite) in the top of each cookie.Bake for 10-12 minutes, until cookies are set.Cool for about 5 minutes on the baking sheet, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.Dip a toothpick in some extra red jam and re-insert in the “bite” holes you made before baking to emphasize them, if not already red. Draw a blood trick down from one of the bites with the jam, if desired.Cookies are best the day they are made.
Makes 2 dozen.

For Twilight Party Decor there are red and white, silk ruffled Parrot Tulips just like the one pictured on the New Moon cover at http://www.pyob.com/parrotulips-whitered-silk.htm
