Why do we do these parties?

Last night, Jeff and I were asked once again... why do you guys do these parties? My answer came out kinda jumbled and not exactly how I meant to explain it. So here are our reasons:
#1- We feel it is really important to get to know ward members outside of church. Living in such a crazy place as Vegas... we enjoy having associations with 'LDS' friends apart from just church and those related activities.
#2- We wanted to really thank our great ward for all their support during our family's struggles in 2007. What better way than to have a party and eventually thank everyone!
#3- This is a way to help all members of our ward meet people they might never have hung out with outside of church.
#4- OUR SELFISH MOTIVE- Jeff and I really never got to double date while we were dating, but we both enjoyed it in our earlier years. Now we spend most of our time with our children and our dates are often times frazzled and rushed and...... we wish we had other friends to go on group dates with ... so I guess this is a small attempt at that.

EVERY MONTH JEFF AND I KNOW THAT WE HAVE A FABULOUS GROUP DATE TO GO ON AND IT'S EXCITING TO LOOK FORWARD TO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
